Learning Networks

It Takes a Village

Learning networks have been important throughout my journey in education. Even so, now that I am on this pathway to continue my learning. Learning networks play a vital role in fostering continuous learning, knowledge sharing, professional development, and personal growth. They empower individuals to adapt to change, solve problems, and stay connected with a diverse community of learners and experts. The following are some networks that I am a part of:

  • Applied Digital Learning Program: I have been able to connect with peers who share the same pathway in the program, and this has been helpful as we can relate to each other when sharing about classes and careers.

  • School district: As an instructional coach I am part of the elementary coaching group for our district. We meet once a month and we have opportunities for sharing and collaboration. This opens the door up for discussions outside of our meetings and I have a solid network of coaches that I can reach out to for any questions or ideas.

  • Social media groups: On X (formally known as Twitter), I am part of a network where mathematics teachers, coaches, and specialists share happenings in mathematics. It's a great way to gather ideas for instruction and coaching. I am also able to share what my campus teachers are accomplishing with their students.

Feedback vs. Feedforward

I have become more open to feedforward, as I have learned it helps to focus on the task at hand and what I can do in the future to change an outcome. This has been really helpful for me as I continue on my path to growing and learning. Through this process, I acknowledge that I am more open to feedforward as it will help me correct or create a specific plan for improvement with the task that I am working on.

Role of Growth Mindset

Life experiences have taught me that there will always be challenges along the way and we get to choose how to react to situations. Growth Mindset is something that I am still working on fully embracing. However, understanding that this concept will lead me to accomplish my goals and make me more resilient in the long run.
