BLEND, LEARN, SUCCEED
Unleash Your Educational Potential
LEADING ORGANIZATION
CHANGE
Commitment to Influence
The rotation model of Blended Learning has been around for many years but most recently has been a big topic of conversation in education. My innovation plan seeks to implement what has already been tried but this time ensuring it is effective in creating lifelong independent learners. Influence is essential when implementing ideas or plans that will create change. As I foresee some pushback from teachers, I commit to delivering my initiative through updated professional development that aims to clear up any misconceptions about the topic.
In my initiative, organizational influencers include my school administration, curriculum and instruction specialists, and myself as the Math Campus Instructional Coach. My strategy is to influence my organization by targeting motivation and ability to change vital behaviors and achieve my goal.
Influencing Change
Six Sources of Influence
Desired Results
Initial implementation begins with select teachers in second, third, and fourth grades. As implementation progresses, all K-4 classrooms will phase in the Blended Learning rotation model utilizing age-appropriate technology applications such as Google Classroom and Seesaw Learning.
Vital Behaviors
-
Teachers will facilitate engaging activities in person and online
-
Teachers will support students as they navigate and make learning choices
-
Teachers will collaborate to share ideas and best practices during implementation
Measures
Teachers will gather data based on the engagement and performance of students with all activities. Math formative assessments will be used to track student growth and progress.
Influencers
Several individuals will help influence the implementation of blended learning. Those with a vital role in the process are:
-
School administrators - Principal & Asst. Principal
-
Curriculum & Instruction Specialists - District Level
-
Instructional Coach - Mathematics
Next Steps
Once results and vital behaviors have been identified, the next step includes supporting individuals to adopt the behaviors through six sources of influence. I aim to support teachers as they effectively implement the rotation model of blended learning in their classrooms.
