About Me

My Life

My name is Yagaira Alaniz and I am from Houston, TX. I am a wife and a mother of two boys who keep me quite busy on a daily  basis. I have been a Mathematics Instructional Coach for my campus for 3 years. Previously, I taught 3rd grade bilingual mathematics and science for six years where the majority of my students had very little access or exposure to proper educational technology.

My goal in education is to create a rich learning environment through providing access to technology and supporting teachers to implement this in their classrooms. Blended Learning can be functional and purposeful if we teach our students how to take ownership of their learning.

My Objective

As an ambitious and dedicated individual, my objective for pursuing a Masters Degree is to deepen my knowledge and expertise in Education. I aim to achieve a higher level of specialization and proficiency in this field, equipping myself with the necessary skills and understanding to excel in my future career.

My goal within the Applied Digital Learning program is to become a Curriculum Writer focused in Elementary Mathematics - specifically within the LMS that districts may use for Personalized Learning.
