The Roadmap to Success

Course Overview

Course Objectives:

  1. Understand the principles of blended learning and its application in mathematics education.

  2. Explore a range of interactive tools and resources that support blended learning in a mathematics classroom.

  3. Design and implement engaging activities that integrate technology to enhance mathematical instruction.

  4. Foster a collaborative and interactive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.

  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of digital tools and resources in supporting student learning outcomes in mathematics.

The modules along with the course objectives  because teachers will begin by exploring blended learning then moving into exploring and designing engaging activities for students. Throughout the course, there are various opportunities for collaboration prior to implementing digital resources and activities in the classroom. 

Ongoing Support:

The Mathematics Instructional Coach will be facilitating the course and will have office hours available for teachers who need additional support. 

The course will include a Lounge area for participants to collaborate and exchange ideas throughout the school year. 

CONSIDERATIONS:

  • The 'Start Here' module is positioned at the beginning of the course map, providing an understanding of course expectations.

  • The instructional design approach includes a combination of multimedia, such as videos, readings, interactive activities, and collaborative discussions.

  • Activities and assessments are aligned with learning outcomes to ensure deep understanding.

  • The course aims to be a learner-centered approach, empowering learners to take ownership of their learning journey while providing guidance and support as needed.

  • The course delivery is a blended format, combining synchronous sessions for real-time interaction and asynchronous activities for flexibility and self-paced learning.

  • My role as an instructional coach will encompass aspects of a facilitator, coach, and mentor, fostering a supportive learning environment and guiding learners.
